It seems you dont have libz installed..
protux does not depend on this.. but let us remember that once we decided to 
used autostuff
we will have this price : to have many unnecessary dependencies which are check 
by configure script


check for libz in rpmfind.. I believe this is very standard and easy to 
find/install
