That sounds plausible. Two comments:
1. The gui needs to make use of this functionality too, so perhaps "terminal"
is not the best word. Maybe "auto" would be better?
2. Presumbably SET {LENGTH,WIDTH} commands should be ignored by drivers with
"auto" set for that value.
