That is not correct.   PSPP can produce piecharts, histograms, NPplots,
Box-Wisker plots, Scree Plots, ROC Curves ...

I don't really see how one can do "analysis" with  a diagram, except in a very 
trivial sense
For example, a pie chart can tell you that most items are in category X.  Also 
an NPplot can tell
you that the data distribution is "close" to normal.

     and
     b) for presentation with
     - nominal,
     - ordinal and
FREQUENCIES /HISTOGRAM or FREQUENCIES /PIECHART
     - numeric (scale) data
EXAMINE /PLOT=

Of course, the general answer to such a question is "It depends on which aspect 
of the data you 
which to emphasise in your presentation".
