Re: PSPP - calculate effect size (Organisation CIT)

Dear Ms Lindner,

your question about the possibility to calculate "the effect size" is a bit difficult to answer because there is a variety of effect size measures in the literature. Among them you can find the correlation coefficient r which is, of course, computable by using PSPP. It is possible to calculate Cohen's d from the correlation coefficient r as it is possible to calculate other effect size measures from other statistics computed by PSPP. But as far as I know effect sizes measures such as Cohen's d or (partial) eta squared are not directly computed by PSPP (except other coefficients of correlation and contingency).

Sincerely,

Oliver Walter

Dear Madame and Sir,

we are happy to use your PSPP programm.
Therefore we are interested in calculating the effect size, especially Cohens D.

Is there a possibility to calculate the effect size with PSPP.
If yes, can you please be as kind as to send me the needed information.

All the best,
Sophie Manuela Lindner
