[Qemu-devel] NPTL support?

Has anyone worked on running qemu with a Linux 2.6 kernel and NPTL thread library? When I do this, the target binary exits with the following error, presumably because qemu doesn't implement the set_thread_area system call. 

# qemu-i386 -L / /bin/ls
cannot set up thread-local storage: set_thread_area failed when setting up thread-local storage
