Yikes! That's an interesting hack I never thought of :).

This is true.

This is also true.

I'm fairly reluctant to put a patch like this in, as you know :). The
marked text works to highlight part of the message, which is all we
need. If there was a good reason (that did something useful) to put
this in, then I might. But as it stands it just seems like more code
to maintain.

While this does get us closer to being able to play nethack inside
ratpoison, I'm gonna sit on this one until someone comes up with some
solid evidence of ansi-colors being a Good Thing.

Nice hack, though!
