[RP] Make won't make ratpoison

I resolved the 'readline' library issue by downloading the lib, configuring, 
make'ing then make-install'ing.
Back in the RP src directory, re-ran 'configure' and all was sweet:

configure: creating ./config.status

Now try run 'make' but get ('ls' included here):
