[Ring] Distributed Hash Table

Hi,

Looking at your documentation of Ring I see that you are using distributed hash table (DHT) technology to create your own network and establish a peer to peer connection.

I am using three android devices, all of which are compatible with your Ring app, to test out the Ring app. In theory since you are using DHT to form a peer to peer connection I should be able to take my three phones and form a network with one phone on one end connecting to another phone on another end connecting through my third phone in the middle using the Ring app.

Does the ring app require some sort of internet connection (LTE, wifi, etc). I am not sure whether I am doing something wrong or whether the app is not able to do this. Using my three phones I have tried connecting one phone to wifi and used it as a connecting point to my other two phones with no success. If the Ring app is able to perform this action, what am I doing wrong. If not, are you guys working to make this kind of peer to peer connection an option in the future or do you guys not plan to work on this at all?

Thanks
