Hello,

Yes disabling a Ring account will disable its DHT node and reduce data usage.

Note that recent improvements in OpenDHT 1.7 that we are currently rolling out in Ring
should significantly reduce Ring background data usage (even without using a DHT proxy or push notifications).

Best regards,

Objet: [Ring] Data usage with and without RING protocol account enabled

Hello,

The GNU Ring GNOME client is able to have RING and SIP protocol accounts.

If all the RING protocol account are not enabled (i.e. disabled) and
only SIP accounts are enabled, is the Internet data usage of GNU Ring
considerably reduced?

We understand that RING protocol accounts use ~100 MB/day, while SIP
protocol accounts use ~1MB/day.

Thank you

Óvári
