Devon,
I just had a failed install on a pentium 166 with 32 meg of ram. I have
not filled out an info sheet on this system. Is there a URL for this? I
accidentally deleted the email with the form.
This system installs and runs red hat 7.2 fine. I am using the
CheapBytes disks.
I used boot.img and the 7.1 updates file.
I changed hard drives to a 500 Meg Seagate and ran the installer. I
selected Low Memory. The installer ran asked for the updates disk
read the updates disk. Went through a series of questions including
Time Zone.
When it got to the point of copying files I had a blue red hat screen. I
saw no progress thermometers. Have these been removed?
The CD ran overnight. Still running over 12 hours later. Still the same
blue screen.
Here's the last line from each console.
Alt F2 - sh-2.05#
blinking cursor will not accept keystrokes
All other consoles accepted keystrokes.
Alt F3 - *swap attempt of 96M to 192M
Alt F4 - <6>HDA: HDA1 HDA2 HDA3
Alt F5 - all tasks done through Writing Superblocks
Five line of documentation at the bottom starting This Filesystem,
the tune2fs, then two lines setting ....
The system wouldn't boot. Dos fdisk showed 3 non-dos partitions.
I will get the directory listing from my updates disk to you next. I
have to boot from the other drive to get on the network.
Thanks,
Hairy Larry
