FILE MANAGER: DFM? OK, but you might want to take a look at the ROX
*desktop*: http://rox.sourceforge.net. If you need DFM, I did make an
RPM package of it for RH8 (see RULE SW map, and try also emelFM: I can
rebuild both for RH9, just ask)

About Gentoo and FileRunner: network related libraries mean (IIRC)
that it can also be an FTP client, ie spare you another package: think
about it. Also, FileRunner is almost all Tcl/Tk: why doesn't it start?
Which is the exact error? If it means that the RULE iso breaks Tcl,
we have to know that...

gnumeric: too many dependencies...
The reasons why I hate GNOME and KDE, or, more exactly, their
          default packaging...

About what you list: is each of those items a separate RPM
package? Have you checked how many RPMs are actually needed
to get all that stuff, and how much disk space they need?

Tool/Script for mounting CD-Rom and Floppy

If an entry in Fluxbox root window is tool enough, we can
            put it together easily

Screenshot tool: there is one in the RULE SW map, try it!

Typing trainer: check, if you didn't do it already,
www.linuxforkids.com, and the educational SW in KDE

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion,
butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance
accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders,
give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new
problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight
efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.
