\"original\" autoconf macros themselves. This means, that the macros are 
released under GPL, but the configure scripts generated by autoconf using these 
macros need not follow the GPL in terms of distribution. The full text of the

The GNU Autoconf Macro Archive provides useful and tested macros that are 
useful to many software writers using the autoconf tool, but too specific to be 
included into autoconf itself. Anyone is encouraged to submit his own macros 
for inclusion into the archive. Furthermore, all users of macros contained in 
the archive are encouraged to provide feedback to the respective authors of the 
macros they use in order to enhance them.
