A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
If it already is an official GNU package, it will be approved shortly.
Otherwise it must be discussed on address@hidden for approval.
Nic Ferrier <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: gnumoney
Develop a web based accounting system for small to medium sized companies.
I run a small company in the UK, developing free software. We have the core of
a UK accounting system which I would like to offer to a wider audience and
develop further:
- adapt it to different national accounting requirements
- add new features (inventory control, payroll)
- fix bugs and polish existing features
The current software is a java \"webapp\". A webapp requires a Java Servlet
engine to run. The FSF have a servlet engine called Paperclips (also a savannah
project).
The webapp also requires a SQL database. Currently I use PostgreSQL; mainly
because I like it. I would like to explore making the software as database
neutral as possible.
If you accept this as a project I would like to call it GNUmoney - pronouncing
it \"new money\". This is a pun on MSMoney and a joke about social class, money
and technology (at least here in the UK).
