The best way to do the migration, imho is that you ask the
person in charge of your mailing lists to get an account on
savannah.gnu.org + do the migration. Is this a possible
option ?

The list manualy handled (I guess you mean they only show in
the /com/mailer/aliases file) could be migrated manualy to
mailman. Note that savannah does not use a separate mailman
installation, it's the same as every mailman handled mailing
lists. Guillaume spent quite some time doing this to avoid
maintaining two separate mailman installations. In short,
migrating from manual handled to mailman handled is out of
the scope of savannah and you should talk to people in
charge of the mailman administration.

Hope that helps a bit although I'm not so sure :-}

There are various preexisting gnu.org mailing lists for
gnu projects that are being maintained centrally (I
don't even know by whom).
These should be attached to the savannah projects
appropriate to the subject of the lists. e.g.,
bug-hurd, help-hurd, should be attached to the hurd
project. I can't do this because I don't know the
mailman admin password being used for those lists. I
have no desire to be involved with the mailing list
administration for gnu.org lists already being managed
by someone else, and don't feel any need to know the
mailman password. But knowing it is the only way I can
see that I can attach the lists to the hurd savannah
project myself,
so someone else will have to do something about this.

We might also like to migrate some of the mailing lists
now maintained by hand on gnu.org into
savannah/mailman.
It's unclear to me from the savannah mail admin pages
what all my options are as to the control of posting,
subscribing, and archives.
