[Savannah-hackers] savannah.gnu.org: submission of GNU which

From: gnu

A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

Carlo Wood <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: GNU which
System name: which
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

Which is a utility that prints out the full path of the
executables that bash(1) would execute when the
passed program names would have been entered
on the shell prompt.
It does this by using the exact same algorithm as
bash.
Tildes and a dot in the PATH are now expanded to
the full path by default. Options allow to rather print
\"~/*\" or \"./*\" and/or to print all exectuables that
match any directory in PATH.
The normal usage of which is by means of a shell
function; this is needed to support detection of aliases
and shell functions.

It already exists and is already a GNU package since
1999; you can see it at ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/which/
