Have you got a .ssh/config with "Protocol 1" as content.

When I try the same command as you, it beggins with

OpenSSH_2.9p2, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090602f

I have uploaded the new SSH identity
"address@hidden", but whatever I try, I can't log
into subversions.gnu.org to access the CVS repository
of the "ac-archive" project. Curiously enough, my old
identities seem to have stopped working, too:
