[Savannah-hackers] savannah.gnu.org: submission of Gimp::SchemeScript

A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden

John BEPPU <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: cartistic
Other License:
Package: Gimp::SchemeScript
System name: gimp-request
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project

The purpose of this project is to make it possible for people to script the
GIMP in a more Unix-friendly way. \"More Unix-friendly\" means being able to
write Script-Fu that can be executed straight from the command line with full
awareness of STDIN, STDOUT, and the environment.

To find out how this is accomplished, please see:
http://perlmonks.org/index.pl?node_id=146539

Basically, I\'m using Perl as a preprocessor for Scheme code before I take the
code and send it up to a Script-Fu Server.

It\'s a clever little system, but more work needs to be done. My first goal is
to take my proof of concept and build a more mature system around it. Then, I
would like to make a repository (similar to vim.sourceforge.net) where people
could submit scripts that make use of this system.

I hope this takes off, because there\'s a large class of batch operations that
people assumed you could accomplish using the GIMP but really couldn\'t.
Things like making a bunch of thumbnails or adding a bunch of watermarks...
you couldn\'t automate this, before, but now it\'s possible.

After the explanation say:
It already exists and you can see it at:
