Mathieu,
thanks for the quick answer.
In fact, the software is not depending on the underlaying operating
system, but it is not yet able to work cross-OS-wise, meaning
building a package for Solaris on a Linux system.
Having written several tools of free software, I'm really surprised
about your statement about "proprietary software". Currently no
software is completely free in that sense as there will be
proprietary
parts within the runtime environment like firmware of the Ethernet
controllers for example. Never have had to discuss whether it makes
sense to publish GPL software based on a perceived operating system.
Please remember that even most of the parts of the GNU software have
been dependent on proprietary software like commercial compilers for
bootstraping gcc a.s.o. :-)
Please let me know whether this threspasses the policy of savannah
as I'll then look for another home place.
Best regards,
Guenther

Solaris
package builder
Here, we host only projects without dependancies on proprietary
software.
Will your package system works on completely free OS as GNU/Linux ?
If it is the case, please resubmit your project providing - a
detailed
description (half a page will do)
- tarbal with the code as it now exists
