Vassilis Pandis <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Stargazer
System name: stargazer
Type: 1

Description:
Stargazer is a load balancer with proxy capabilities. It can distribute
requests over a network thus maximizing network performance. It also includes
fail-over mechanisms that will allow requests meant for a certain box to be
redirected to another computer, should the former stop responding. It is quite
compact and has been written in the C language. It supports both TCP and UDP
and can redirect any port. It is capable of load balancing any type of data so
is therefore suitable for protocols utilising SSL too. It is a proxying load
balancer which means that client IP addresses are not available to the server
farm and all data appears to be coming form the load balancer. It currently
supports some load reports ( statistics ) .Future goals include
administrator-friendliness, porting to other platforms, content-based load
balancing for further performance enchancement and other features, which cannot
be listed here but are described in the TODO file. It will be released under
the GNU GPL.It does not officially exist yet but I\'m working on it. Most of
the code is ready and it\'s a few weeks away from 0.1.0 , Release Candidate 1 .
Here is a snapshot that does not ( and is not intended to ) work properly :
