Ken Stailey <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Smoking Clover
System name: smkng-clover
Type: 1

Description:
This project is an historical artifact. It is a 1989 port of Bill Gosper\'s
Smoking Clover demo touched up to run on modern X servers. See

http://www.jargon.net/jargonfile/s/smokingclover.html

for the Jargon File entry for Smoking Clover.

The author of the X11 port of Smoking Clover has given me permission to
re-release the code under the GNU GPL. Having an artifact from the MIT AI Lab
Lisp Machine culture preserved as a public work via the GPL is my intent. I
would like the initial release to be as close to the original work as possible
and future verions to start adding all the feature improvements like GTK.

The code runs but currently is limited it 8-bit pseudocolor visuals since it
uses color palette animation to drive the effect. I believe it will be
possible to make the program function without palette color animation it will
be futher from the original. I would like to release a version with just the
pseudocolor support as an initial version.

It does exist now but it\'s not hosted anywhere. You can E-mail me for a copy.

Other Software Required:
X11 (tested on XFree86 4.2.1 and a 1995 release of Sun\'s OpenWindows)
