Since texmacs is a gnu package, you have to deal with
ftp.gnu.org

Write to address@hidden to be able to put files there.

The texmacs projet has no download area. The dowload
area link:

http://savannah.gnu.org/files/?group=texmacs

Gives an error 550 (failed to change directory).

I can use sftp to get a file listing from
savannah.gnu.org, but I could not see either the
"upload" directory as advertised in the FAQ of a
"texmacs" directory.

When I try to use scp, I get the following errors

address@hidden TeXmacs$ scp -1 README
address@hidden:/upload/texmacs
scp: /upload/texmacs: Permission denied

address@hidden TeXmacs$ scp -1 README
address@hidden:/upload
You tried to execute: `/usr/local/bin/cvssh -c scp -t
/upload'.
Sorry, you are only allowed to execute :
CVS_RSH=ssh cvs commands
rsync from /cvsroot or /upload.
rsync to /upload.
sftp to and from /upload.
lost connection

I also tried to use rsync, but I am a bit blind. I
think it would be nice to have an example command line
in the FAQ.

Thanks for your help.
