Here's what I get when I try to use sftp:

sftp -1 address@hidden:/upload/freewps
Connecting to subversions.nongnu.org...
Enter passphrase for RSA key '/home/jwhite/.ssh/identity':
You tried to execute: `/usr/local/bin/cvssh -c
/usr/local/libexec/sftp-server'.
Sorry, you are only allowed to execute :
CVS_RSH=ssh cvs commands
rsync from /cvsroot or /upload.
rsync to /upload.
sftp to and from /upload.
Connection closed

I'm using sftp from cygwin-1.3.19-1. I know that scp works
because I was able to upload the files just fine. All I'm
really concerned with is being able to delete the files that
I mistaken uploaded into the root of /upload/freewps.

As far we know, sftp work with ssh v1.

Can you copy/paste error message you got?
