Nic Lawrence <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: PSMON - Process Monitoring Daemon
System name: psmon
Type: GNU
Description:
Project homepage: http://psmon.perlguy.org.uk/
Current release: http://psmon.perlguy.org.uk/cvs/psmon.tgz
Exported CVS files: http://psmon.perlguy.org.uk/cvs/psmon-1.0.0/
Psmon is a perl script which can run standalone or as a background daemon,
which scans the *nix process table using Proc::ProcessTable. It then compares
that list of what is and is not currently running to it\\\'s config file, which
lists any processes which must be running at all time, and TTL, CPU usage,
concurrent instance limits etc for different process fnames. It will then kill
or respawn processes. It can sent email notifications via SMTP, and will log to
SysLog.
It currently only depends on Perl and a handful of common CPAN modules. GNU
public license.
Other Software Required:
Perl + the following modules:
POSIX, Getopt::Long, Net::SMTP, Proc::ProcessTable, Config::General,
Unix::Syslog
