It seems that anonymous CVS access to subversions is
extremely flaky. I have been trying to update the CVS
for Emacs, and it has only succeeded in connecting to
the server once in about 20-30 attempts within a five
minute period. Is there a known problem with
subversions? I also was getting this frequently
yesterday (Friday afternoon/evening US Pacific time).
Here's what I've been getting:
address@hidden emacs]$ cvs -t up
-> main loop with
CVSROOT=:pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/emacs
-> Connecting to subversions.gnu.org(199.232.41.2):2401
cvs [update aborted]: end of file from server (consult
above messages if any)
-> Lock_Cleanup()
