System name: yaffl
Type: non-GNU
Description:
YAFFL - Yet Another Firewall For Linux
It is composed of 2 scripts that install anti-syn flood and automatic
blacklisting firewall on a GNU/Linux computer. This prevents usual nmap ports
detection, silent port scannings and syn-floods. It also provides NAT &
masquerade for connexion sharing.
This project is intended to be used on a personnal Linux box that is always
connected to the internet.
Other Software Required:
- a Linux kernel with iptables, QUEUE and NETLINK support.
- iptables developpment components
- perl 5.6.x
- IPTables::IPv4::IPQueue
- NetPacket::IP
- NetPacket::TCP
Other Comments:
I created this project because each time I talk about it, people want such
fonctionnalities for a firewall. I do not promise it will give Ro><Or top level
rock security for yea rs but it worked well for a year to me and I am
happy with it.
