jaromil <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: piksel video framework
System name: piksel
Type: non-GNU

Description:
Piksel is a framework of tools and libraries which aims to provide
interoperability between various free software applications dealing with video
manipulation techniques.

The current focuses of the project are: implement a library for plugin
dinamicly loaded video processors and colorspace transformations; develop of a
standard set of control commands for interoperability between media
applications, providing a library implementation which makes it easy to be
embedded into softwares.

This project has its origins at the Piksel meeting held at the Bergen Center
for Electronic Arts, in which authors from various free software applications
met to settle common specifications: EffecTV, FreeJ, LiVES, MoB, PD/PDP, VeeJay.

Other Software Required:
this is still being analized.

we plan to reduce dependencies as much as possible, as the libraries being
developed should be easily embeddable into applications without adding special
requirement to them.

ATM it looks like there will be no dependencies.

Other Comments:
It would be very good for us, in case you accept to host our project, to have
a CVS directory ASAP: the meeting is still going on and we need to settle a
common codebase in it.

Anyway we know it's our fault to be late now, so no big worry and thanks anyway
for your great work!

At this first stage of the project we don't feel like applying for making it a
GNU software, but once we have something more to submit to your review we'll
surely think about this opportunity!
