The best thing to do with all the backup files is to put them into CVS

as previous versions.  Can you do that?



There is a script called rcs-checkin that does this for RCS.  If CVS

still uses the same file format as RCS, maybe you could get the job

done using that script.



Once the backup files are in CVS this way, it is fine to delete them,

because the old version history won&#039;t actually be lost.  If we move to

CVS without saving these old versions, then the history would be lost,

which would not be good.
