[Savannah-hackers] cvs commit messages

I've been asked (by a few projects) if it's possible to setup commit
messages.

I can do this (just by altering the loginfo for the specified
project) but is there any reason why I shouldn't?

I know we're going to have a new system for users to do this but
until we have that wouldn't it be sensible to turn these on for users
who want them?

Would the load (smtp sends to the mailman handler) be too great?
