  I just tracked a problem with the same symptoms with another user. 
All  I can say is that after suspecting its shell environment variables, 
he finally logged out and in, and it worked again.

  Your message shows that SSH auth works. If the problem persist, send 
the complete command you're typing, and the content of your environment 
(privately for security reasons).
