While working on Savannah, I found the way to permit GNU projects to change their download area link. So now you can set it to ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/grub/ (do not use http:// since it only works with ftp.gnu.org). 
That is related to a support request I forwarded to you some weeks ago.
