Summary: No option to display dates in non-American format

Original Submission: Being a Brit, it is always strange to see dates shown as
mm/dd/yy. To me, 03/11/04 looks like 3rd November 2004 rather than March 11th
2004. Some countries may even read it as 2003 November 4th.

Could we have a user preference for the display format of dates? Thanks!

This will have to be done later when we have more time and more pressing tasks
have been completed.

Adding this to the Savannah TODO task.

I just want to add a "me too", being European these dates are next to
unparseable to me. Could you please use the standardized ISO 8601 format
YYYY-MM-DD?

Hello Tony,

I have submitted a bug at the Savane project (the software we currently use
here at Savannah).

The bug is available here:
  https://gna.org/bugs/index.php?func=detailitem&item_id=348

(TTTT, I've been wanting this to change for a long time ;)
