After flushing the cache, konqi now also shows the proper dialog (save or 
open with kpgp), mozilla still displays the (now slightly different) error. 
I guess it's a mozilla bug, too. I have tried to manually enter a 
"application/pgp-signature" mime type into the helper application setting 
of Mozilla, but that did not help. Oh well...
