following recently created (by mailman admins) mailing-lists refuse to to 
accept any "commands"

I can't change owner/moderator information, I can't moderate (approve, discard) 
pending mails, I can't change passwords. Just checked and seems that I can't 
even subscribe to these lists - it keeps whining about not having valid email 
account (address@hidden)

seems like these lists are in read-only mode... you can look but you can't 
touch =)

I confirm your problem.
Unfortunately, the Savannah hackers do not have root access to the mailman 
machine, so I have troubles finding the origin of the problem.

I will ask the FSF sysadmins to have a look at this.

There is a permissions problem with newly created lists.  I have asked the 
admins of the mailing list server to fix this.
