Details:

Hi,

the GSL project recently changed from cvs to git @ savannah as its main
source-repository. One important point was that cvs could still be used as a
client to follow the development.

However, the cvsserver provided by git for GSL does not have any tags, not
even the one added directly in the gut repository.

Since GSL is often used on number-crunching systems were software is only
very slowly installed and often new software not at all, we have to use cvs to
follow the GSL development on these production-systems.

Is it possible to provide all "git-tags" in the cvs repository "faked" by
git?
It would be nice if this could be implemented for GSL.

Thanks.
