Description:

  RepChat is a chat application written in order to make communication
possible within a local area network, between computers with different
operating systems(GNU/Linux and Windows for example). It doesn't need a
server and it's very confortable to use. It uses UDP  for sending and
receiving messages.

The old version of repchat is located at http://repchat.sourceforge.net . It
is written in Qt for GNU/Linux and MFC for Microsoft Windows. Because
maintaining it in two different versions isn't productive and the app itself
doesn't fit our needs anymore and needs to be rewritten, we've decided to
clone it in Python so that we will be able to maintain a single version of
the program for all operating systems.

RepChat Snake is the new version of repchat, written in Python, a very
powerful language which allows us to build a trully cross platform
application very easy.

We've decided to switch to savannah from sourceforge because we're not
satisified with their complicated system and because we enjoy the interface
of savannah.

The app is in development and the latest version can be downloaded from our
temporary subversion repository at svn://82.77.199.140/repchat/snake (it's
not very usable at this moment but it works). We want to release it under
GPL(The copyright notices and license are already in the sourcecode).
