Details:
I am unable to kick off logging through the command to a detached session. I
have to attach to the session and issue a :log or a C-a H. However, the
example below does not work.
# screen -d -m -S test_prog -t "Test Prog" ping 127.0.0.1
# screen -ls
There are screens on:
7254.test_prog (Detached)
1 Sockets in /var/run/screen/S-root.
# screen -S test_prog -X logfile test_prog.txt
# screen -S test_prog -X log
I also tried:
# screen -S test_prog -X log on
Still no files ever appear in the local directory. However, if I attach and
issue a :log command or C-a H, it works. The file test_prog.txt appears in
the local directory.
Please let me know if you need any more information.
