Thanks, but unfortunately it seems I need OpenSSH 3.9 or
higher to use SendEnv.
$ ssh -v -o 'SendEnv FOO' host
Sun_SSH_1.1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090704f
command-line: line 0: Bad configuration option: SendEnv
