That's very unlikely. Why don't you tell us exactly what you're trying,
what you're seeing, and what you expected it to do that differs from the
actual behavior.
My guess is that you may be running something like "screen whoami", and
then are puzzled when it exits immediately? If that's the case, then
either activate "zombie mode" in your ~/.screenrc (see your manual), or
run whoami inside an interactive shell, rather than by itself.
