Bill, Looked at the code, added my comments to the tracking-system per
Klaus's request (but as have concluded that as it appears that the approach
taken in this patch to refine the definition of ATMEGA timer features has
been superseded by a different approach is later versions of the code base;
it would not seem to be directly applicable to the current code base,
however may serve as a good reference if any features addressed in this
patch remain lacking in the current code base.

(and although not a big deal, just as a heads up) Klaus, don't know if
you've noticed it, but the recent "prevent divide by zero" patch you added
to avrcore.c, was actually redundant, as that problem was fixed in version
1.79 back about a year ago; so suspect that it was an artifact of simulavrxx
being derived from an earlier version of simulavr (but is harmless).
