I think mine is 2.6 .
The distribution is Fedora 9, so whatever comes with that.
At work, I use a neglected Windoze box with 2.5 .
I haven't tried simulavrxx on it.
Also at work I have a linux box that I suspect is a custom build:

Fargo is in the US central timezone, EDT should be CDT.
If it comes up,
I wouldn't object to browbeating those responsible
into installing a more recent python.
It's been a long time since I did any development on it.
A possibly better-made linux box has 2.5.2 .
