[Social-discuss] OStatus with Wordpress

Hi guys,

I just found out Wordpress.com supports a rough version of the Twitter api:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/twitter-api/

What does this mean for the recent developments and the adoption of OStatus by several big players in the distributed social network field?

If this gets released as a plugin, Wordpress blogs could become a essential part of federated social networks, in my opinion.
