[Speechd] Upgrading speech dispatcher on raspbian

Hi all,

Is there anyone here who has been able to upgrade speech dispatcher on
raspbian? The default package is 0.86. I see that there is a later version.
I want to upgrade the package because I am unable to get any sound out of
speech dispatcher. Espeak is installed and I am getting speech from it. This
means that my sound system works.

Anyone any suggestions?
