streamtuner and proxy for live365

I am running Streamtuner version 0.12.3 on Gentoo (Base System version 1.4.16) 
linux (2.6.3-ck2 kernel)

I am behind a fire wall and have to use a proxy server.

The proxy server is set as an environment variable AND in Streamtuner. 
Shoutcast is working perfectly,
but, when I try to use any of the live365 stations I get an error box which 
states could not connect to
www.live365.com can anyone help please ?
