Hi... after some thought I figured out that I could use sprintf() to achieve
my objective.
So if anyone else can't get itoa() to work on their system, an alternative
solution is as follows:
char suffix[32];
sprintf(suffix, "%d", 99);
strcat(prefix, suffix);
