Swarmapps compile problems

I'm not sure if this is a problem directly related to Swarm or not. I've
installed and built
all the swarm libraries and the designated required software. When I try to
build the Swarm applications, however, I get the following message (I just
included the heatbugs app. but it's
the same for all):

I have tried to find where this symbol is referenced but haven't had any
luck. I am using the following versions of hardware and software:

HP730 - HP-UX 9.01
GNU gcc 2.7.2.1
GNU Make version 3.74
GNU assembler version 2.7 (hppa1.1-hp-hpux9.01), using BFD version 2.7
Tcl 7.4
Tk 4.0
libtclobjc1-1b3
BLT 2.1
xpm-3.4i

I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.
