Compiling on Solaris

I too am encountering the same problem as Jason in running a swarm app on
a Sun machine - but with OS version 5.8. Swarm was installed on this
some time ago (Nov 10 2000, I think it was a binary distribution) but I
have only just got around to trying to use it on this machine today.  

My gdb output is below. Could it have any thing to do with patches to the
Os since install?
