Hi All,
I am a sysadmin at RMIT Uni, Melbourne, Australia, trying to
install swarm for student use. Unfortunately it is not all going
to plan.
I have downloaded swarm-2002-05-14, and am trying to install
it on a solaris 2.8 sparc machine.
Some info:
gcc 2.95.2
jdk 1.4
tck/tk 8.3
Xpm 3.4k
libpng 1.2.0
gmake 3.78.1
gdb 5.0
zlib 1.1.4
Sun ld
Configuring with:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/pkg/swarm --with-xpmlibdir=/usr/local/X11/lib
--disable-shared
It all configures fine, picking up all the libraries except
But when I go to make, I get the following error:
gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I.
-I/nfs/echidna/h/staff/r/rohan/devel/swarm-2002-05-14/libobjc -I. -I./objc
-I/nfs/echidna/h/staff/r/rohan/devel/swarm-2002-05-14/libobjc/objc
-I/nfs/echidna/h/staff/r/rohan/devel/swarm-2002-05-14/libobjc
-DBUILDING_LIBOBJC -Wall -Werror -g -O2 -c NXConstStr.m -MT NXConstStr.lo -MD
-MP -MF .deps/NXConstStr.TPlo -o NXConstStr.ogcc: cannot specify -o with -c or
-S and multiple compilations
gmake[4]: *** [NXConstStr.lo] Error 1

Does anyone have any tips to help ?
Thanks
Rohan
