        Hi Steve,

if you are using Java, you can increase the memory used by the VM with the parameter -X; add it in the line of the javaswarm script executing the 'java' command.

-Xmx400mx gives 400 Mbites of memoty to the VM etc.

Hi-

Running a number of different models in Windows Swarm, I get a memory allocation error when there seems to be plenty of memory available. As I gradually increase the number of initial agents in the model, I hit a threshold above which the model crashes during agent creation, the error being:

/src/Swarm/swarm/src/misc/xmalloc.c:26 xmalloc

This happens even though Swarm is using little of the available memory.

Now, I was running a big model and it crashed with the same error (after running for about 14 hours). Also when there appeared to be plenty of memory available.

Is there a limit placed somewhere in how much memory Swarm can have? What else might cause this?

Thanks,

Steve
