This is an Ubuntu system administration question, not a swarm question. I 
stopped using Ubuntu when they went to the
Unity desktop and I realized I was just a beta tester for their touchpad/phone 
OS.  So I can't help much. Assuming you
do properly install my blt stuff, I can't see why ubunto would try to update 
because I put a HIGHER version number on my
packages,  Note mine is 2.4z-5, which is higher than what they are trying to 
give you. I suppose you could use "apt
pinning".  Also in synaptic there is a version choosing option to stop updates 
from changing packages.
