Yes we need to move quickly and so lets accept Tim. $2K each is a lot of money but not unreasonable, it's pretty much the going rate, any discussion?

Who else and what about SwarmFest 2008

I like the idea of having a couple of keynote speakers - and we certainly
have the funds. Why not simply allocate $1K or $2K for speakers.

Well, I just pinged Tim Kohler and he just finalized his travel plans
which do let him come to Chicago, and his answer to my question whether
he would do a banquet talk was "yes".

But we could indeed pay the way for another person or two. With Michael,
that would probably round the schedule off nicely.

(What about you, Marcus?)

Is there any discussion re: Tim Kohler, or shall I officially accept his
acceptance of my tentative invitation? If it's OK with people I would
get his name in the Call for Papers which I hope to start circulating
today or tomorrow.
